Children’s glasses for myopia management

We work primarily using Hoya’s innovative MiYOSMART lenses, but as an independent optician we have the benefit of being able to access many different ranges of myopia control spectacle lenses, including Stellest and MyNor.

MiYOSMART lenses are a safe and effective way to manage myopia progression.

Myopia (short-sightedness) in children is becoming increasingly common. We’re proud to be able to offer these award-winning lenses to help slow down the progression of myopia in childhood.

A clinically proven way to manage myopia

Myopia management is the term given to measures that try to slow down the progression of myopia; these measures include specially designed contact lenses and lenses for spectacles, like MiYOSMART.

MiYOSMART lenses are designed especially for children and offer an easy-to-use alternative to contact lenses for myopia management. They are clinically proven to be an effective way to manage myopia in childhood and are suitable for children of all ages, just like regular single vision lenses.

Glasses with MiYOSMART lenses are particularly suitable for myopia management in younger children aged 6+, who might struggle with contact lenses on a regular basis, or as a back-up for older children already wearing daily disposable lenses for myopia management during the day.

How do MiYOSMART spectacle lenses work?

The lens uses patented technology to provide clear vision and constant myopic defocus simultaneously. In simpler terms, this means that the lens changes the focus in the peripheral vision, which helps to manage myopia progression.

During clinical trials, MiYOSMART slowed myopia progression in children on average by 60%* with its award-winning technology.

You won’t notice the difference between a MiYOSMART lens and a regular single vision spectacle lens; they look exactly the same.

Are they just for children?

Yes, they are specially designed for myopia management in children, with an easy to wipe, anti-reflective, durable coating and MiYOSMART’s Eye Shield, offering impact resistance and UV protection.

More than 500,000 children around the world wear glasses with MiYOSMART lenses to help slow down the progression of myopia.
